Free Range vs Processed

We live a self-sufficient, self-reliant, and self-sustaining lifestyle.

We have a chicken processing plant in our town. I wont name names, they claim their chicken is "Chicken. Naturally." When you see the size of these chickens at 6 months old on their way to slaughter, you can't help but notice the poor condition they are in and the horrible odor coming from them. I really do believe our processed food is making us all sick and fat. Obesity and cancer is at an all time high in a country where it barley existed when I was growing up.

I noticed how the wording on the trucks was cleverly put and if read correctly it's not saying what it implies at all. Chicken. Naturally. The period in between them forms a new sentence, Chicken being the first implies it to be the main idea, naturally merely is meaning of course.... One would at first glance come to the conclusion of their chicken being all natural. Trust me it isn't, nor are their competitors. It's a shame how they can cleverly get away with sub par quality and deliver it to the mass. I wont get into the conditions of the houses they are kept in or their condition on way to slaughter, if you have sat in traffic next to a chicken truck you already know. You also know to roll up your windows or cut your air off when getting close to one. To think we have been eating that. Shame on me for feeding this to my family. Shame on them for not doing better.

Today I am raising my own food. My chickens are clean and healthy with no growth hormones and no steroids no antibiotics just good feed and clean water. I know my chickens are 100% natural because they are grown by me. I feel good knowing I can provide my family with what the Lord intended for them. I do my best to insure my family is getting the very best.
